BOTOX
Botox® Cosmetic, one of the most widely used and popular anti-aging procedures done today, can drastically improve your appearance by eliminating facial lines and wrinkles. Botox temporarily stops targeted muscles from moving, causing the muscles to relax and the skin to stay smooth for 3-5 months.
There is no down time from the injections. However, there can be slight bruising. This can usually be prevented by avoiding blood thinners such as ibuprofen, fish oil and alcohol for a few days before treatment. We also recommend not participating in any strenuous activity for the remainder of the day of your appointment.
Commonly treated areas are the crow's feet (outer corner of eyes), horizontal lines in forehead and frown lines between eyebrows. Other areas treated are bunny lines (scrunched nose) and around the mouth and lips.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does Botox® last? It takes anywhere from 2-10 days for Botox® to fully take effect, and the results typically last around three months. As it wears off, you will notice a gradual return of wrinkles and lines. Often the lines aren't as deep as they were before treatment. With repeated use, you may enjoy longer wrinkle-free periods between treatments.
When should I schedule my treatments? We recommend scheduling your appointment at least two weeks before major events. It can take two weeks for the Botox® to fully "settle." Also, as with any injection, there is a risk of bruising, so you'll want to keep that in mind when planning your appointment.
How much does it cost? The price of Botox® treatment varies, depending on the areas treated, the anatomy of the skin and the desired results. We charge $12.50 per unit, which typically works out to $200-$300 per area. While some providers choose to charge per area, we think it's fair to our clients to charge per unit, so you're paying only for what you're using.
Will I look like my face is frozen or plastic? We believe Botox® should be used to enhance your natural looks. Most people won't really be able to tell exactly what you've had done. They'll just notice you look fresher and brighter. That's the goal! We believe it's better to be conservative with the Botox®, thereby avoiding that "plastic" look. We can always add a little more if you need it.
How do I know if I'm a good candidate for Botox®? You are a good candidate if you are over 18, aren't pregnant or nursing, and are in generally good health. We will discuss your medical history before any treatment is administered.
